ESCANABA -- The annual Calico Christmas craft show was a welcome sight for Black Friday shoppers in Escanaba. The show has been an annual event in Escanaba for more than 20 years.

It is always immediately after Thanksgiving to appeal to Christmas shoppers. With more than 100 tables full of homemade items, shoppers didn't need to look far to find the right gift.

"People are in the mood to start their Christmas shopping, and they're looking for that special gift, for something homemade, and we have a lot of wonderful gifts over here, a lot of homemade candies and rugs and clothing and purses and jewelry," said show organizer Donna Ritchie.

The craft show was held Friday and Saturday and will be at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba again next year.
