Gift idea keeps dollars local

MARQUETTE -- Do you need a good idea for a holiday gift?
The Lake Superior Community Partnership has a suggestion that's good for the local economy.
The partnership is handing out gift checks that are usable at more than 700 businesses in Marquette County.
Since 1998, nearly 3 million gift checks have been sold, keeping holiday shopping local.
"They are good at any of our member businesses it's a great way to shop local to keep dollars in the community," said Crystal Kuklinski of the Partnership.
Gift checks are available in amounts of $10 to $50.
The Lake Superior Community Partnership urges you to call ahead and place your gift check order before the holiday season, then pick it up at their office.
