MARQUETTE -- Marquette area businesses were working together Wednesday night.
    
For years, the Lake Superior Community Partnership has organized Business After Hours, a networking opportunity for local businesses.
    
TV6 and FOX UP held the event at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.  There was a TV given as a prize.
    
The Lake Superior Community Partnership says events that connect the Marquette area are crucial to its success.

"We're (the Lake Superior Community Partnership) only as strong as we're going to be as our surrounding neighbors.  It's all about shopping local, so if everyone can start utilizing the services of all the other businessess that we have here in Marquette County, the stronger we'll all end up being," said Lindsey Hemmila of the LSCP.

The partnership said that all the communication is working for the Marquette area since its economy is one of the healthier ones in Michigan.
