An Escanaba dental clinic is in the running for an award that recognizes top-notch dental practices in adult preventative care.

The Jacobs Smile Center is one of four finalists nominated for the American Dental Association's Adult Preventative Care Practice of the Year.

It's the first time they've been nominated.

Dentistry is becoming more medical, and the recognition was really a team effort in providing dental care to help patients live longer, better lives.

“We’re very honored,” explains Dr. Paul Jacobs.  “We’re excited that the American Dental Association would choose us to be one of the finalists.  We’ve worked with preventative dentistry for years, and we use a lot of modern techniques in our office, and the American Dental Association has looked at those techniques."

The winner will be announced at the ADA Annual Session in Las Vegas on October 11.
