WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP -- The West Branch Township Board discussed plans to auction off the "W" at their Thursday meeting.  They've been trying to sell the building over the past few years.
    
After a deal fell through with a potential buyer earlier this year, they'll now auction off the building and all of its contents.
    
Some say selling parts of the building could cause problems for the township.

"Once they start moving into the pieces of the building--pulling fixtures, pulling lights--that's when they truly make that building unusable and dilapidated.  And then the issue is who's responsible for that building that is completely unusable, and it becomes a very high liability," said Lisa Johnson, President of Community Hand Up.

After agreeing on the wording of the contract, they'll meet again to formally sign it within the next week.
    
The auction is planned to be held next month.
