IRON COUNTY -- Chris Skrzyniarz, 53, is dead after the motorcycle carrying him and his wife was struck by a vehicle on Sunday evening.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on M-69 in Iron County.  A Ford Focus, driven by 89-year-old Harold Foucault of Crystal Falls, was turning into his driveway when the vehicle struck a Harley Davidson carrying Chris and Sheri Skrzyniarz.

Both motorcycle riders were thrown from the vehicle, causing serious injury.  Chris Skrzyniarz was found unresponsive by responders, and after lifesaving measures were attempted, succumbed to his injuries, according to the Iron County Sheriff's Department.

Sheri Skrzyniarz, 48, was taken to Northstar Health Systems, then transferred to Marquette General Hospital for her injuries.

Foucault was treated and released at the scene of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
