HOUGHTON COUNTY -- The body of a missing woman who disappeared in Houghton County Saturday night has been recovered.  Her body was found on the west shoreline of Torch Bay.

Valerie Sue Palmer, 54, was reported missing Saturday night after being spotted at the Wells Fargo Bank near Michigan Tech.

Houghton County Deputies were called out to Torch Bay at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.  Palmer's purse and several belongings were found in a boat near the bay on Sunday.
    
The incident remains under investigation.
