MARQUETTE -- A small fire in Marquette was quickly put down Friday morning by firefighters.
    
The Marquette City Fire Department was called out at 2:30 a.m. to 127 West Ohio Street.  A passerby had seen smoke coming from a second story window.
    
Smoke detectors were going off, and the occupants of the lower apartment evacuated.
    
When firefighters arrived, they found the fire in the second floor living room and put it down.
    
No one was in the apartment at the time.

The fire resulted in light structure and moderate smoke damage to the second floor.
