FOSTER CITY -- American war veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq will be remembered forever after the construction of a memorial wall at the Foster City Cemetery.

It's an addition to a memorial monument built in 2007.

The construction of the wall cost $5,500.

It was no easy feat to raise the funds through can picking and other, more extreme, measures.

"I even got so desperate, I got two teeth knocked out in Vietnam, so I had a partial plate that was made of silver, and I even took them out and sold them," said Vietnam veteran Kurt Peronto.  "So, I'm back to missing two teeth again."

Peronto also had his beard and head shaved for thousands of dollars.

This coming Saturday, they will dedicate the wall at 4:00 p.m., followed by a spaghetti dinner and raffle.

Everyone is invited and can sign the wall.
