MARQUETTE -- One sure sign that summer is in full swing is the Kiwanis Chicken Barbeque which will happen this Sunday at the Lakeview Arena.
Kiwanis members have been busy preparing the arena for the 55th annual chicken barbeque.
Over 3,300 halves of chicken will be slow roasted starting at 7 am.
Each meal includes a half of chicken, baked potato, roll and dessert.
It's the Kiwanis' biggest fundraising event of the year with proceeds going to various local programs such as Bay Cliff, the Noquemanon Ski Race, and Teaching Family Homes.
If you don't have time to sit and eat the Kiwanis have a new option for you.
"We have dine in, we have take out lines," said Kiwanis Vice President Mike Morgan, " we also have a drive through this year, so if you have your tickets you can go through the drive through, speed things up a little bit for you if you're taking it out and going to a picnic or something."
The barbeque starts at 11:30 am and goes until 2:00 pm
