It was an opportunity to make music while raising money for a worthy cause
MARQUETTE -- Bell choirs from four Marquette churches came together Sunday afternoon for a concert at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Each choir played three individual pieces. There were also three pieces done by the entire mass choir.
All donations went to Room at the Inn, Marquette's rotating homeless shelter.
"The churches that were involved are members of the coalition that work with Room at the Inn, so that became our charity. We're all very pleased to be able to have people here to hear us and to be able to play," says co-organizer Judy Quirk. "I don't know whether we're more excited about the fact that folks are coming to listen or that we can play together!"
This was the first time for the Bell Choir Concert. Organizers say they'd like to put on another concert sometime in the future.
