ISHPEMING -- A group of hikers are asking for the community's help in raising money for the third annual Hike for Tikes fund-raiser.
Kevin Kukla will hike from Al Quaal park in Ishpeming to the Bay Cliff Health Camp on May 9. He will make a 3 day, 32-mile trek with his brother, Brian Kukla, and Wilber Jennings using only a compass and a map. Upon their arrival, they will present the camp with a donation.
"It's pretty rough terrain back there, but it's fun," said Kevin Kukla. "It's satisfying and it gives us a chance to get out and do something good for the community."
In addition to the hike, there will be a pool tournament fund-raiser this Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at the Long Shot Saloon in Marquette with a fish fry following the event.
Last year over $4,000 was raised for the camp.
