BOSTON, MA -- More than a dozen Upper Peninsula runners are in Massachusetts today. They are there for the 115th Annual Boston Marathon.
Long regarded as one of the world's toughest courses, Boston has spurned professional pacesetters while encouraging tactics that favor strategy over speed.
Experts think that will be different this year. Last year's men's champion, Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot of Kenya, broke the record by 1:22. He is back to defend his win.
Ethiopia's Teyba Erkesso will defend her women's crown against a field that includes four-time Boston winner Catherine Ndereba.
