MARQUETTE -- This weekend marked a big victory for the Marquette Senior High School first robotics team, "Cold Logic". They took first place at the Livionia regional competition on Saturday.
This was only the second competition for the local team of six, who staged a major upset when their strategic robot defeated about 40 larger, more experienced teams, also from Michigan.
"It's a great opportunity to be able to do something like this and, like, completely ecstatic to be able to go so far with it, especially in our first year with six team members," said team member Nicole Schlorke.
Unfortunately, the team didn't earn enough points between the Livonia competition and a previous regional competition in Traverse City to compete in state finals, but they plan to compete again next year.
They hope this year's victory helps them gain more sponsors.
