Wet, heavy snow and rain showers brought a rather dismal end to the weekend yesterday for Upper Michigan, and it appears today won't bring much change.

A strong area of low pressure will depart the Great Lakes region today, kicking up strong north-northwesterly winds and more wintry precipitation.  The good news is that the showers won't be as widespread as yesterday.  Snow will likely be the main precipitation type north, with more scattered, more liquid precipitation south.  Any snow will still be the wet heavy stuff, though, as temperatures will once again be hovering above freezing in the afternoon.

Even after some clearing tonight, it looks like we'll get another shot of rain and snow tomorrow evening.  A small scale, but fairly potent low pressure system will swing by Lake Superior in that timeframe and kick up some more precipitation and keep Wednesday on the unsettled side as well.
