MARQUETTE -- The North Star Academy's Gold Star Team presented its goals and priorities to the Board of Directors Wednesday night, one of which included a greenhouse.

The Gold Star Team is a committee made up of students, parents, teachers, and administrators who discuss ideas and needs for the school and suggest them to the board.
    
Past suggestions include the building of an elementary school and furthering North Star's relationship with NMU, both of which have happened in recent years.
    
The team asked the board to use a recent grant to build the greenhouse which would be used for students to grow fruits and vegetables.

"We're trying to be innovative and creative and meet the needs of all of our students, and this is a way to gather information from a lot of different sources including students and parents," said team member Carroll Ann Swanson.

The Gold Star Team committee meets several times a year before bringing their suggestions to the Board of Directors.
