ESCANABA -- Escanaba High School language teacher Tina Hall has a group of students who are passionate about recycling.

They call themselves the 'Recycle Moes,' and they empty classroom paper bins every Tuesday during second hour.  They even made honorary badges for their club.

The recycling group was first started six years ago.  Club leader, Luke Lippens, says it's a great way for students to learn the importance of caring for their school and their community.

"Why is it important to recycle?  Why isn't it important to recycle?" said Lippens.  "I always say, you don't want to wind up with nothing but a landfill of an Upper Peninsula.  You don't want to see piles of garbage everywhere."

The old papers are collected and taken to the Delta County landfill to be recycled.
