MARQUETTE -- The U.P. Builder's Show is this weekend, and several vendors participating in the event were hard at work preparing their booths.

Crews from various contracting and home improvement companies were constructing booths in the Superior Dome in anticipation of a busy weekend.

Show organizers are expecting up to 10,000 patrons this year.

Some new additions this year include many green and energy conservation booths.

Organizers say several crews came in early Thursday and had a long day ahead of them in order to be ready for Friday evening.

"We had some exhibitors in at 8 a.m. this morning, and they'll be here until 8 p.m. tonight, and they have a half day tomorrow to get in and get everything organized and ready to go," said Greg Dix of the Show Planning Committee.

The U.P. Builder's Show is on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is $2.50.
