DELTA COUNTY -- Delta County banks and credit unions will be partnering with law enforcement this Wednesday to learn effective techniques for handling robberies.
Financial institutions will send frontline employees, like tellers, to the sessions. Officials will discuss the proper techniques of staying calm, but aware, before, during, and after the robbery.
Detective Johnson of the Delta County Sheriff's Department said employees should have a description folder for jotting down key information.
"They're going to be the ones to tell us who we're looking for," said Johnson. "Give us the description as far as height, weight, clothing, and these are the types of things that we want them to remember because bank robberies can happen anywhere."
Law enforcement officials will also discuss how to react during unarmed and armed robberies.
