ISHPEMING TWP. -- More than 100 dresses were for sale Saturday at Westwood High School in Ishpeming Township.

The sellers picked the price.

They walked away with 80 percent of the profit, with the other 20 percent going to the NICE Community School's Child and Family Resource Center.

"The prom dress resale is a service for our girls and our families because they spend so much money on dresses every year, and they wear them once, and they never use them again, and other girls can benefit from that, and they can exchange dresses, and everybody's happy, especially the parents," says Donna Ballweber, coordinator of the NICE Community School's Child and Family Resource Center.

All of the dresses not reclaimed were donated to the Women and Children's Center.

The annual dress swap usually raises a couple hundred dollars for the Child and Family Resource Center.  All of the money raised goes toward the daily play group, which allows the service to remain free for parents.
