ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP -- New and lightly used prom dresses for a fraction of their original costs will be up for grabs in Ishpeming Township this weekend.

The Child and Family Resource Center in Ishpeming Township knows how expensive the costs of making teenager's prom dreams a reality can be.  They are hoping this weekend's dress resale will help out some families.

People can drop-off dresses at Westwood High School.  If the dress is sold, they'll get 80 percent of the proceeds.  Twenty percent of the proceeds go back to the Resource Center.

Organizers say the dresses up for sale are on a big discount, averaging from $90 to $100, making dream dresses affordable.

"She put it on and she was just so thrilled.  Dad did have tears in his eyes because he could give her what he always wanted to give her," says Donna Ballweber of the Child and Family Resource Center.  "So everybody was happy and we were all choked up, too."

Dresses can be dropped off at the school from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

The sale will be held Saturday from noon to 4 p.m at Westwood High School.
