Boy Scouts of all ages participated in the annual event

MARQUETTE -- The mild weather Saturday morning made it the perfect day to go sledding, but some Boy Scouts decided to use a different type of sled on the hill.

One hundred sixty Boy Scouts came to Marquette Mountain Saturday for the annual Cardboard Classic Sledding Competition.

The rules are simple: make your own sled using only cardboard, tape, and glue.

Of course, there's plenty of creativity to be found among the sleds.  And since many of the racers compete every year, they know just how to make their sled fast.

"I think it's pretty good.  Just here it's sliding around pretty good," says Jacob Brinker of Troop 333.

Ribbons were awarded to the top finishers in each division.
