It's free to any survivors that want to participate
MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County YMCA is partnering with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help local cancer survivors improve their quality of life.
It's called the Live Strong Program, and the goal is to promote an ongoing healthy lifestyle for those battling the disease.
The 12-week program is made up of 90-minute classes twice a week that will focus on different aspects of health, like improving energy levels, building strength, and improving the ability to do everyday tasks.
"We'll focus on exercise, nutrition, and just getting back to a normal life, you know, the way they felt before they had cancer, and just increasing their quality of life and letting live a normal life," says YMCA Wellness Director Jenna Zdunek.
The program starts February 15 and is free to any cancer survivor.
Advanced registration is required. For more information, contact the Marquette YMCA at (906) 227-9622.
