Snyder appoints trustees for three universities

New members were appointed to the NMU board as well

LANSING, MICH. (AP) -- Gov. Rick Snyder is appointing governing board members for Central Michigan University, Grand Valley State University and Northern Michigan University.

Snyder said Friday that Bill Kanine of Petoskey and Patricia Maryland of Bloomfield Hills will serve as Central Michigan trustees.

David Hooker of Grand Rapids and John Kennedy of Grand Rapids were named to the Grand Valley board.

Stephen Gulis, Jr. of Rockford and Rick Popp of Northville were appointed to the Northern Michigan board.

Trustees for all three universities are appointed to eight-year terms and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
