GM hopes to start this spring
IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP -- The General Manager of the Big Powderhorn Mountain Lodge says he's hoping that the resort can start rebuilding the main lodge by late March.
The lodge burned down last week. A cause has still not been determined.
GM Bruce Noren says management is now dealing with the issues of insurance and demolition, but fully plans on reconstruction this spring. In the meantime, the resort and the ski hill remain open. It's operating out of the Caribou Lodge, next to the burned down building.
Rental skis, snowboards, and boots were mostly undamaged in the blaze. No one was injured.
Over the last week, Noren says the lodge has received plenty of goodwill wishes.
"We've even gotten letters," said Noren, "from little kids telling us how sad they are about the fire. It's really touching."
