After a Minnesota father and daughter became lost in the woods of Iron County Thursday morning, authorities are reminding residents to be careful when venturing into the outdoors for long periods of time
IRON COUNTY -- Iron County Central Dispatch responded to a 911 call around 11 a.m. Thursday morning from Jeffrey Sadek of St. Paul, Minnesota, who, along with his 22-year-old daughter Pricilla, had become lost in the woods while tracking an injured deer.
With the help of GPS coordinates from Sadek's phone, the pair were eventually located about two hours later, safe and unharmed, in Iron River Township.
Paramedics treated them on scene for exposure to the cold.
The Iron County Sheriff's Office encourages anyone going into the woods this winter to have a plan and be prepared for unexpected emergencies.
