CALUMET -- Loved ones, caregivers, and others turned out for an educational program on Alzheimer's awareness earlier this week in Calumet.

Author Lisa Cerasoli captivated the crowd with her humorous reflections on caring for her own grandmother who has Alzheimer's.

Cerasoli read passages from her book, As Nora Jo Fades Away, and answered everyone's questions.  She even shared her successes, some as basic as a thorough note system that reminds Nora Jo not to put metal in the microwave.

The event was held at Gardenview Assisted Living and Memory Care in Calumet.

The new senior living facility has a special wing for Alzheimer's patients and plans to hold more public educational events in the future.
