MARQUETTE -- Marquette City Police have arrested a man on charges of delivery of a controlled substance causing death.

Charles Lloyd Ferron, 59, from Marquette, was arrested based on an incident that happened on August 9 when Marquette Police were dispatched to 1401 Lincoln Ave. on the report of an unresponsive 27-year-old female.

When Marquette officers arrived on the scene, MediRide paramedics were already working on the victim.  Ferron was also at the scene.

The female was transported to Marquette General Hospital where she eventually succumbed to her illness on August 10.  The investigation revealed that Ferron had allegedly supplied the female with a narcotic called Fentanyl, which was in the form of a patch, and is a very strong pain reliever.

Ferron is currently lodged at the Marquette County Jail and bond is set at $75,000.  Delivery of a controlled substance causing death is a felony, punishable by up to life in prison.
