Police investigate felonious assault, aggravated domestic

It happened early Sunday morning in Wakefield
WAKEFIELD -- Authorities in the western U.P. are investigating a felonious assault and aggravated domestic incident that happened early Sunday morning.
Troopers from the Wakefield State Police post were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call in the city of Wakefield. Upon arriving at the scene, a male subject was found sitting on the front steps of the residence, covered in blood.
The man advised police that he had cut himself several times. Upon further investigation, police learned that the man had threatened his girlfriend with a knife, threatened to kill occupants of the house, and start the house on fire.
Fire damage was located on the inside of the residence.
The male subject was arrested for felonious assault and aggravated domestic. He is currently lodged at the Gogebic County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
