Heroin charges could mean life in prison
DICKINSON COUNTY -- A Coleman, Wisconsin man facing charges of delivery of heroin appeared Tuesday in Dickinson County District Court.
Rogers Lee Shealy, 35, is charged with three counts of delivery of heroin and one count of conspiracy to deliver heroin. He is being charged as a habitual fourth offender and potentially could face life in prison if he's found guilty of the charges.
Shealy's attorney asked for more time because two of the four charges were added Tuesday which prosecutor Stephanie Brule says is not uncommon.
"Often we'll wait to see if we've reached a plea agreement before adding charges, and when it was clear yesterday that it wasn't headed in that direction, then we made the decision to add the charges that are available," said Brule.
Shealy's preliminary examination is continued until November 3. His cash bond is set at $100,000.
