Local coffee shop gives back
MARQUETTE -- It's charity week at Cruise-n-Coffee in Marquette.
All this week, 25 cents from every grande or special of the day cup of coffee sold, will be donated to the Marquette General Hospital Cancer Center.
The fund-raiser is being done at both the Third Street and Wright Street coffee shop locations. Proceeds will be directed to MGH patients affected by breast cancer.
"We get great support from the community themselves with their patronage to our shop, and it's just one way that we can give back to the community, and we want to keep it local sticking with Marquette General, and directing it towards patients would actually be a little bit more beneficial because it actually puts a face with the charity that we select," said manager Dawn Johnson.
Cruise 'n Coffee does a fall fund-raiser every year, each time benefitting a different organization.
This year it just so happened that it was set for October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
