MARQUETTE -- An Indiana man facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct appeared in Marquette County District Court Monday.

Twenty-five-year-old Aaron Gregory Kiefer has been arraigned on CSC charges after allegedly sexually assaulting two girls in Marquette back in 2002.  The first charge involves a girl under the age of 13 and carries a longer maximum sentence.

"With a victim being under the age of thirteen years, this is a felony that carries a maximum punishment of life or any term of years, mandatory age or sexually transmitted disease testing," says Judge Roger Kangas of the Marquette County District Court.

Kiefer also faces up to 15 years in prison for the second charge involving a victim older than 13 years of age but younger than 16.

His preliminary examination has been set for October 18.  His jail bond will continue at its current rate, $75,000.
