MARQUETTE -- State charges have been dropped against a Marquette man accused of threatening a woman at knifepoint back in March, in exchange for a plea bargain.

Ryan Saari was charged with home invasion and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Those charges were dropped in exchange for Saari pleading guilty to an unrelated federal firearms charge.

Saari's attorney, Karl Numinen, told TV6 that "these charges are being dropped because he didn't do this."

Ryan Saari remains a possible suspect in the February murder of Robert Dusseau in Marquette.

Saari's trial was set to begin on Tuesday.

He will appear in district court Monday morning to formally enter his plea.
