REPUBLIC TWP. -- Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, State Police troopers from the Iron River post, and volunteers were called to the area for two boaters that were overdue.

The two male occupants of the boat were both located in good health on the western shore of Fence River in Marquette County.

The men were fishing when high winds and waves picked up on the water.  They headed to the nearest shore and started a fire while they waited for help.

Both were transported back to their vehicle.
