PORTERFIELD, WI -- A 77-year-old man is dead after a fire in northern Wisconsin.

According to the Marinette County Sheriff's Department, the fire was reported about 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Miles Road in the town of Porterfield.

The man, who lived alone in the house, was found in the burned remains of the home Friday afternoon.

Officials are still investigating and haven't released the man's identity.
