Making people aware of hidden disabilities

IRON MOUNTAIN -- You may remember the story of 45-year-old Ara Ashburne riding her scooter on a 7 state, 26 town tour throughout the Midwest to raise awareness about hidden disabilities.

Ashburne's journey took her through stops in the U.P. as well, including Iron Mountain and Marquette.

Due to an infection, Ashburne had her abdominal muscles removed 10 years ago, and now she is hoping the ride helped bring the topic of hidden disabilities into the public eye.

She says she hopes this is good training for her next goal: riding her scooter throughout France.
