ONTONAGON -- The Lake Linden man who was behind the wheel during a fatal car surfing incident in Ontonagon County last month has been sentenced.

Eli Taylor Martin, 21, pled guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving.  Martin was originally charged with negligent homicide.

The judge sentenced Martin to 45 days of community service.

Josh Norton of Mohawk was killed when he fell off the top of the moving vehicle.

The incident occurred in the Paulding Light area in July.
