ESCANABA -- When it comes to fair food, milk probably isn't at the top of many people's lists.

That changed Wednesday when the Milk the Moment tour made a stop at the U.P. State Fair.  The traveling booth had free samples of milk from Jilbert's Dairy, a football toss, and of course, the milk mustache photo booth.

Organizers were hoping their stop in the U.P. would encourage more people to drink milk and learn about the nutritional benefits.

"Studies show that kids that get a nutritious meal and eat dinner as a family are going to do better in school, maintain healthy weights, and live a more active lifestyle," said Got Milk Representative Kelly Mangus.  "So it's great that we've got a local dairy, Jilbert's, out here today providing free samples of milk to everybody, making milk a fun beverage that families can cherish and celebrate with around the dinner table."

Wednesday is the only day the Milk the Moment booth will be at the fair.
