More than 12 kids took to the stage
MARQUETTE -- Kids in Marquette took center stage Friday morning at the Blueberry Festival.
The annual show featured performances from more than a dozen kids ranging in age from 6 to 17. Most of Friday's contestants were singers, belting out everything from pop songs to show tunes. And the show proves to be lots of fun for both organizers and the kids.
"It's a way to discover new talent. We've had some kids that have come in that normally would not walk into a youth theater to audition or sign up to perform elsewhere," says Arts and Administrative Director Nikke Nason.
"It's fun because it's fun to sing and it's fun to go on stage," explains singer Senia Manson.
The youth talent show is put on by the Marquette Arts and Culture Center.
