Attempted assault and resisting arrest are the charges
HOUGHTON -- A Calumet man accused of threatening state troopers over the weekend was arraigned in Houghton County District Court Wednesday.
Fifty-five-year-old Dwayne Ross Beighton is charged with attempted assault and resisting arrest, a felony punishable by up to two years in prison.
Beighton allegedly tried to fight officers when they found him stumbling along US-41 and even tried to break the patrol car window as he was taken to the hospital.
He's also facing a misdemeanor charge of dangerous and disorderly conduct.
Beighton is out on bond but will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 21.
