An elegant evening
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- It's just about time for the Lake Superior Theatre's summer performance season, and Thursday night, organizers kicked off the season in style.
The 12th Annual Lightkeeper event was held at Point Loma, the home of the Kaufmans, in Marquette Township.
Guests spent the evening "sipping, supping and socializing" in anticipation of the season ahead.
The fund-raiser brings in between eight to ten thousand dollars for the theatre, and this year, they're proud to announce that the money is being used to put bathrooms in the theatre, and it also helps keep ticket prices reasonable.
"Got started when we needed some extra money, and it also was an attempt to keep our prices affordable for families, so families of four could come for less than $50 to a wonderful, Broadway quality show on the water in Marquette, Michigan."
The season kicks off Wednesday, July 7, with B.G. Bradley's "Lake Stories".
