FENCE, WI -- When people think of buffalo or bison, it's rarely in the U.P. or Northeast Wisconsin.  But both will be on display Saturday at the Sixth Annual Baby Bison Fest.

The herd is at a local farm in Fence, Wisconsin and includes at least half a dozen baby bison.

John Nowicki holds the annual event as a fund-raiser for the Florence County Fair.  The event includes wagon rides, bison and buffalo burgers, and vendors from across the county.

Nowicki expects close to 700 people this year.

"We give wagon rides right into the heard.  Last year I think we had 519 people in four hours; we gave rides into the herd with.  Typically we have beautiful, sunny, warm weather.  This year?  I don't know; we're praying a little bit," said John Nowicki, Baby Bison Fest host.

Baby Bison Fest takes place Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT at the corner of Highway 101 and County Road C in Fence, Wisconsin.
