NEWBERRY -- A Luce County resident is jailed after a weekend assault.

According to the Michigan State Police, they were called out to a domestic assault situation in Newberry around 4 a.m. on Saturday.

They found that the assault was severe in nature, and they took the suspect into custody.

The suspect is charged with assault with intent to commit murder.  This person's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
