ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP -- An aspiring pop star from Ishpeming says one of the things he loves about music is sharing it with others.

That's exactly what Adam Whittington did Friday as he performed for the SCI, special needs class at Aspen Ridge.

The kids and adults alike seemed to really enjoy not just his music, but also his upbeat attitude.

Whittington just recently returned from New York where he auditioned for the lead of a band recently signed to Columbia Records.  He's not sure the band is a fit for him; he'd like to continue pursuing a solo career and in the meantime, share his talent with those around him.

"It was really cool.  It was an honor.  I definitely got to meet some very great people and we got along very well.   It was a very cool experience; it was very surreal," said Whittington of his trip to New York.

If you'd like to hear Adam perform, he's playing at the Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette on March 19.
