IRON MOUNTAIN -- A tradition for older generations has made its way back to the kids in Iron Mountain...roller skating.

The recently opened Iron Mountain Roller Rink is giving kids and families a taste of an old favorite.

To ring in the New Year, the rink is holding an open skate and dance tomorrow night.

All kids and families are welcome for the event which will include a live DJ and what is believed to be the only ball drop in Iron Mountain.

The atmosphere is drawing in lots of kids from the area.

"Once a kid comes actually they seem to be hooked,” said Roller Rink co-owner Jenny Crosson.  “They keep coming; we keep seeing a lot of the same faces and then they come back with more friends...and we can see that the middle school kids were obviously looking for something to do.”

The skate is tomorrow night from 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m.  This will be followed by the dance from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.
