LANSING (AP) -- State wildlife officials are asking hunters for help in evaluating this year's deer seasons.

The Department of Natural Resources is conducting an online survey.  It enables hunters to report their results, including where and when they looked for deer.

DNR wildlife biologist Brian Frawley says the information is used to build models that assess populations and help develop quotas for taking antlerless deer.

In addition to hard data, the survey asks hunters for impressions about the herd and how satisfied they were.

Other questions deal with antler restrictions in the Upper Peninsula and the opening date of firearm season.

Participants should wait until they've finished hunting deer for the 2009 seasons before taking the survey.
