There were 33 accidents reported Friday.
HOUGHTON COUNTY -- As the snow piled up in the Copper Country this week, so did the number of fender benders.
From the highway to side streets, roads in Calumet were plowed, but still slippery Saturday.
No accidents were reported. But, that wasn't the case Friday as police departments across Houghton County were sent to 33 minor car accidents.
"It wasn't black ice, and there was a lot of white out conditions. And it was very sudden where you could be driving along fine, and all of the sudden you started to get into really bad weather--blizzard, blowing conditions--and it really got bad," said Michigan State Trooper, Gary Lassila.
State Police troopers say most winter days, the safest way to drive is to stay under the speed limit.
