MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Sheriff's Office honored a Champion man today for returning money he found on the ground of a parking lot last month.

Richard Mager was given the Outstanding Citizen Award Thursday morning after he discovered an envelope with $800 in Marquette's Perkins Restaurant back on December 16.

After turning the money over to police, it was put back into the hands of the owner, 79-year-old Murphy Furr of Chocolay Township.

As a reward, Furr gave Mager a hundred dollars for his honesty.
