Antique snowmobile enthusiasts gather in Little Lake

LITTLE LAKE -- We all know that snowmobiles are meant for riding; but some sleds, even when they're parked, are just as enjoyable.

Around 20 sleds were on display Saturday at the Third Annual Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show at the American Legion Post 349 in Little Lake.

The day-long event is more like an antique car show for the snowmobiler.

Sleds ranged in year from 1969 to 1983.

Although, Saturday's single digit temperatures may of kept some people inside, it didn't deter true snowmobile enthusiasts from showcasing their collections.

"Well, I'm getting older just like the snow machines and we aren't all used up yet," says organizer Bill Akerley.  "It's a lot of fun and I think it's a hobby for guys, who just like to rebuild and restore them."

After the classic sleds were judged, rides were given to those interested in taking a trip back in time.
