Making people laugh

MARQUETTE -- The sounds of laughter could be heard throughout Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette Sunday afternoon as Gale Lajoye performed his production of Snowflake.

Snowflake is based on Donald Stenglein of Marquette, a man, says Lajoye, that the community embraced.

Using no words and props he created himself, Lajoye portrays Snowflake.

"You can't have any false movements or conclusions, you always have to be very precise.  If you do something that is not precise, then people's minds wonder and they go 'Well what does he mean by that?', so it's very hard to come up with a mime performace that has continuity and it makes sense and everyone understands it," explains Lajoye.

Snowflake has been viewed by audiences across the globe and has been running for 19 years.
